Introducing Afghanistan (7 nights)

‘Introducing Afghanistan’ is a private tour lead by Safarāt’s Operations Manager Qudratullah Noory.

This is an abridged itinerary of our 14 Day “Past and Present” trip focusing on the country’s two most important cities with a side trip to visit the remains of the Buddhas of Bamiyan and the Band-E-Amir national park. Our guests will then return to Kabul by air or catch one of the growing numbers of international flights from Kandahar.

You’ll be joining Noory and one of our experienced and careful drivers on a 1-2-1 basis in a modern air conditioned car

The Afghan Silk Road (6/7 nights)

The Afghan Silk Road is a 6 to 7-night journey through modern Afghanistan connecting Pakistan with Tajikistan.

Our journey is aimed at travellers who are passing through Central Asia on their way to Pakistan or India, although we are more than happy to run this trip starting or ending at Kabul airport.

As with any Safarāt journey, our route through the ancient often serves as a conduit to explore and understand the present. As usual we will be using our decades of collective experience in Afghanistan  to curate special access for our travellers.

This is a private trip - you will be met at your entry point by Qudratullah Noory who is a highly experienced, licensed and English speaking guide with a modern air conditioned vehicle. He will then accompany you to your departure point.

The itinerary can be run in either direction from Shir-Khan/Bandar (Tajikistan) to Torkham (Pakistan) or vice versa.

6 nights are $1900 USD

7 nights are $2200 USD

There is a 50% single supplement for solo travellers.

Our trip across the North of Afghanistan is the perfect trip at any time of the year -starting in Mazar-E-Sharif and crossing the might Hindu Kush via the Soviet Salang pass into the mountains of Bamiyan, through to Ghanzi. and back to Kabul

Our ‘Past and Present’ journey is our original and we think still the best trip we run in Afghanistan.

If you are interested in a real deep dive into Afghanistan’s social and cultural history then this is the trip for you. The trip takes you to 4 unique areas of the country, crossing invisible lines in the map that explain Afghanistan’s recent and often bloody past.

This journey takes us through high mountains and through the south of the country and so we only run this trip in Spring and Autumn.
